And, if you haven’t had your vehicle checked, serviced or maintained yet, now is the time to do it – before you head out for holiday fun.

A Christmas Story House

A Christmas Story House is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m. The house was used in “A Christmas Story,” the popular holiday classic; and it has been restored to the way it looked in 1983’s movie appearance. The house is located at 3159 W. 11th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, 44109. You can purchase tickets at the gift shop across the street. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for children ages 7 through 12 and children 6 and under are free. Admission includes a guided tour and museum tickets.

Dickens Victorian Village

This event runs through early January  and is located in historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio. “Visit” old world England and Dickens Victorian Village to see 180 lifelike figures in over 89 different scenes from the Victorian society. For more information, call (800) 933-5480.

Fantasy of Lights

From now through January 4, 2015 see 132 different light displays with over one million lights. Once you have seen the lights, visit Santa and get some cookies and hot cocoa. Admission is $15 per car. The Fantasy of  Lights is at the Alum Creek State Park in Delaware, Ohio. For more information call (740) 369-2900.

Niederman Christmas Farm

Throughout the rest of December from 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. every day, visit the Niederman Christmas Farm to see Christmas lights, listen to Christmas music and look at life-size nativity. Plus there are live animals and hundreds of decorated trees. The farm is located at 4972 LeSourdsville-WestChester Drive, Liberty Township, Ohio, 45011. For more information, call (513) 887-0725.

Visit Bill DeLord

Since many of these events involve a drive, stop by Bill DeLord to have your vehicle serviced or checked – or if you are in the market for something new, pick it up now instead of waiting. You’ll find some great end of year deals, so now is the best time to buy or lease a new vehicle.

Cadillac in 2015

Cadillac fans – are you ready for this? Cadillac is replacing its V-8 powered CTS-V.R coupes that ran in the Pirelli World Challenge series with the ATS-V.R coupe that features a V-6 powered by twin turbochargers. While you won’t see this racecar at Bill DeLord Cadillac, you can certainly get a sporty Cadillac that’s really fast when you visit the dealership – if you want to mix luxury with speed, that is.

Johnny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim, Pirelli World Challenge GT champions, will head the development of the new ATS-V.R coupe and will prep the factory ATS-V.R program for a competition debut in March 2015 at Circuit of the Americas. Meanwhile, the pair will tighten up the chassis and build the car out to global FIA GT3 specifications.

Jin Vurpillat, Cadillac global marketing director, told Road & Track that it’s not a secret that the auto manufacturer is trying to take Cadillac global. He also stated the GT3-spec racecar would give the manufacturer more flexibility and options. Because many other GT3 cars are entering the Pirelli World Cup Challenge, Cadillac decided to make a change.

The ATS-V.R was built with the future in mind; and it conforms to full GT3 regulations. Cadillac would like to see sales of the ATS-V.R in any of the 30 different international series that accept GT3-spec vehicles.

Cadillac would like to start expanding its racing program, and is considering Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and other places. According to Vurpillat, the auto manufacturer wants to create a vehicle with specifications that allow it to be entered into any GT3 racing market instead of building a one-off vehicle that would be marginally accepted.

For 2015, the program will be factory based in the Pirelli World Challenge so that the auto manufacturer can defend its title. Vurpillat also stated that they like how the series is growing and what is happening with the Pirelli World Challenge.

Getting Your Vehicle Winter Ready

Steve White/Flickr Creative Commons

The upcoming winter months are not only hard on you, but are hard on your vehicle. You can make winter a bit easier by winterizing your vehicle and preparing for a bad day now – before it gets cold. Bill DeLord can also help you get your vehicle ready for winter by using window washer fluid with antifreeze in it and, if you get your vehicle detailed, by using a wax that protects the paint from the winter slush.

Frozen Door Locks

If you’ve ever gone out to leave for work and found that you couldn’t get in your vehicle, you know how frustrating that can be. Pouring warm water over the door locks doesn’t always work. If you store a tube of glycerine at home and another tube at work, you’ll be ready for the day Old Man Winter freezes you out of your vehicle. Don’t keep it in the glove box – it won’t do you any good. And, don’t keep it in the trunk, either, since that lock could freeze.

Oil Change

If you run 5W-30 year ‘round, you shouldn’t have a problem with the oil, however, if you run 10W-30 during the warmer months, you want to change to 5W-30 – a less viscous oil – during the cold months.

Engine coolant has many jobs. It keeps the interior of the engine from rusting and keeps the engine from overheating. However, it also keeps the water in the engine block from freezing during the winter months. If it’s been some time since you’ve had your cooling system flushed, you should do it before the cold sets it. If you are not sure of which percentage of coolant to water your vehicle takes and you can’t find your owner’s manual, stop by Bill DeLord to have the cooling system serviced.

Emergency Kit

Many people never think of this, however, it is important that you update your vehicle’s emergency kit for the winter months. Even if you have a brand new vehicle, you never know what might cause you to get stuck. You could slide off the road or might be involved in a crash through no fault of your own. The emergency kit will definitely come in handy.

It should include extra blankets, flares, a first aid kit, boots, a hand-crank radio, engine oil, flashlight, washer fluid, coolant, extra hats and gloves, water and food. The food can be dried food such as dried fruit, beef jerky, crackers or even chips.

The 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV may be the most anticipated generation of the Escalade yet. This year’s crown jewel of the Cadillac line has been cut and crafted to form inside and out, so you experience the highest level of luxury on the road.

Stunning Interior

The interior of the 2015 Escalade is unlike any to come before it. But once you start driving, you’ll be wowed by the heated and cooled front seats, heated second-row seats, power-folding third-row seating, 16 speaker Bose surround sound system, Cadillac Cue media system, and so many frills, you’ll keep discovering them long after your first road trip.

As much as you’ll adore the comforts and luxuries of the interior of your new Escalade, you’ll love the looks you get when you cruise by in this head-turning SUV. The Escalade’s bold Cadillac grill, advanced forward lighting, Light-Blade LED tail lamps, invisible rear wiper and available 22-inch rims help this SUV’s appearance surpass all others on the road. And with 20 inches added to the Escalade ESV, you get a vehicle that looks better, stores all of your cargo better and is easier to enter and exit. This new generation of Escalade is the first to offer this level of accommodation to everyone who steps inside.

Superior Safety

Even more important than the way your new Escalade ESV looks and feels is the safety you and your family experience when inside. With forward collision alerts, lane departure warnings, rear cross-traffic alerts, side blind-zone alerts, lane change alerts, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking and automatic safety belt tightening, you can feel confident everywhere you go in this top-end SUV.
